The Art of Squat RX

Boris from Squat RX, circa the past

Besides making the best squat-related t-shirts out there, Boris Bachmann writes a hell of a good strength training blog. I “met” Boris online at the Dragon Door strength and conditioning forum. He immediately distinguished himself as being very kind, compassionate, and way smarter than anyone has a right to be.

I guess that’s a good thing. He’s a teacher. We need more teachers like him. Boris can talk kettlebells until you’ll beg for mercy. We’ve also had some great conversations about meditating for strength training and better all-around performance.

The mental side of weight lifting and getting stronger has been beat to death online and off, but that doesn’t mean we should ignore it. That’s where Squat RX comes in. Equal parts lifting advice, workout tips, zen philosophy, and humor, it’s a blog for anyone who wants to get better. Better at squatting, better at lifting, better at living.

And if that wasn’t enough, Boris drew that picture up there, 20 years ago. He made sure that I knew it wasn’t an original–but that he drew it. No tracing.

And if you don’t believe me about those t-shirts, here is yours truly wearing one.

I told you my legs were skinny.

Thank you Josh – that’s a write-up to make any man blush.

No one fills out that SKWAT! t-shirt like you do!
