Steve Angell Deadlifting 903 lbs on the Ironmind Eagle Loops

by Kilo on November 22, 2010

If you’ve ever pulled a deadlift that was much above your bodyweight, you know what a challenging movement it can be. And then there are people like Steve Angell deadlifting upwards of 900 pounds. This is incomprehensible to 99.9% of the most passionate deadlifters out there, and I include myself in that group, as I’m way back around 550 pounds right now. But it is even more incomprehensible to people who don’t deadlift at all.

Oh, I forgot to mention that Steve up there is not just deadlifting by grasping a barbell like the rest of us. Those blue loops over his fingers are the Ironmind Eagle Loops, a tool for increasing the strength of the fingers and support grip. I’ve never used them, but I can’t imagine that they would allow me to lift deadlift 903 pounds.

I have watched this video several times today and I still think he looks like he’s warming up. Good grief, Steve. As Adam Glass said, this is a man who is not f****** around. Indeed.
